Introduction
To submit your new campus app to the Apple App Store, your institution will need to:
- enroll in the Apple Developer Program
- add Ready Education as an admin
Once Ready Education has been added as an admin, we can publish the campus app to Apple's app store, and publish updates on your behalf.
Without this, the campus app will not appear in the App Store and users will not be able to download it.
Here are the steps to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, and add Ready Education as an admin.
Note: If your institution is already enrolled in the Apple Developer Program, you will need:
- your Apple ID
- the ablity to invite
If you don't have this information, you will need to reach out to Apple Support: https://developer.apple.com/contact
This article has three sections:
1) Creating an Apple ID through the Apple Developer Program
2) Enrolling in the Apple Developer Program as an Accredited Educational Institution

1. Creating an Apple ID through the Apple Developer Program
To create an Apple Developer Program account, you need an Apple ID. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one using an existing email address associated with your institution. We recommend using an email address that multiple people can access, such as your support or IT team email.
To create an Apple ID, please follow the below steps:
1. Go to: https://developer.apple.com/account/ [Figure 1]
a) Click ‘Create Apple ID’ to create a new Apple ID

2. Enrolling in the Apple Development Program as an Accredited Educational Institution
Once you have created an Apple ID, you can enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an Accredited Educational Institution.
As well as an Apple ID, you will require the following to enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an organization:
- DUNS Number
- Legal Entity Status
- Legal Binding Authority
- Trusted iOS device to setup two-factor authentication
DUNS Number
The DUNS Number is a unique nine-digit number that identifies business entities on a location-specific basis. Assigned and maintained by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the DUNS Number is widely used as a standard business identifier. Your institution probably has a DUNS Number to use for other purposes, such as applying for research grants.
Ready Education will supply you with your DUNS number.
Contact your Customer Success manager if you need to know your number.
Or look up your DUNS numbers here: https://www.dnb.com/duns-number/lookup.html (or https://www.dnb.com/ca-en/duns-number/lookup.html for institutions in Canada).
Legal Entity Status
Your institution must be a legal entity to enter into a contract with Apple.
Legal Binding Authority
As the person enrolling your institution in the Apple Developer Program, you must have the legal authority to bind your institution to legal agreements. You must be the institution’s owner/founder, executive team member, senior project lead, or have legal authority granted to you by a senior employee.
Two-Factor Authentication
You need a Trusted iOS device (iPhone or iPad) to setup two-factor authentication.
You can use a personal device (such as your own phone), however, you will need to log out of your personal iCloud account and login with your newly created institution Apple ID. Full details are available in the ‘Two Factor Authentication’ section below.
