Inviting members to a channel is controlled by roles and permissions. For information, see "Roles and Permissions" below.
In the campus community, conversations happen in channels. A channel is a single place to share messages and images. To collaborate and have conversations, you can invite members to channels.

Things to keep in mind
- You can invite specific people to a channel where they can be promoted to moderator or channel owner.
- If your channel is private and non-discoverable, being invited is the only way people can join it. This is because non-discoverable channels do not appear in Find a Channel. People cannot join a channel they cannot find.
Invite Members
To invite members to a channel, here are the steps:
- Click Add Member (
) to the right of the channel main view
- Search for who you want to invite, and when you find them in the list, click to select
- You can search as many times as you like, and send invites to multiple people or groups
- Click Invite
Campus Cloud sends the person an invitation to join the channel, which they can view in Campus Cloud or the mobile app.
You can invite individual people or audiences (lists of people). To be invited, each person must have an app account.
For more information, see:
You can view a list of pending invites at the bottom of the member list for a channel. You can revoke any pending invite. There is no expiry date on an invite to a channel.
Add a Host
You can add a host (organization, athletic, or service) if you have permission to manage it. Once the host is added to the channel, it behaves like any other member. For example, you can make posts and comments on behalf of that host. Other users with permission to manage that host can also use the channel as that host.
