Each post or comment in the community has a permanent link or permalink. This link does not change over time, so it can be used to archive or share a message. You can copy the permalink, and send it to another Campus Cloud user to share a message with them. Or, you can bookmark the permalink if you need to make reference to a message again in the future.
Figure 1. Each post or comment has a permalink, which can be used to share or bookmark the message.
Here are the steps to get the permalink for a message in the community:
- Find the message you want to link
- Click "More" ()
- Click Permalink
Campus Cloud displays the posted message, with all associated comments, in your browser.
To share a message using permalink, copy the address from your browser, and send it to others (for example, in an email). You can also bookmark this page to save the location of the post and comments, to refer to later.
For more information, see Find a message with Search and Filters.
Some things to keep in mind
When viewing a permalink, remember, you can only post and comment in channels you have joined. If you’re viewing a permalink for a channel you have not already joined, you will not be able to leave a comment. Join the channel to be able to leave a comment.
