You can join a channel to add it to your list of channels. When you join, the channel appears in the sidebar so you can easily return to it, along with other channels you have joined.

What to Expect
- Private, non-discoverable channels do not appear in Find a Channel and you cannot join them yourself. To join, you'll need to be invited by one of the private channel's members.
- When you join a channel, you'll be added to the member list
- You can leave a public or private channel at any time, and rejoin public channels if you need to. If you leave a private channel, you'll need to be added back by a current member.
Join a Channel
Campus Cloud
To join a channel from within Campus Cloud, here are the steps:
- Log in to Campus Cloud, then click Community
- Click Find A Channel
- Find the channel you want to join, by searching or browsing
- Click Join (for public channels) or Request to Join (for private channels)*
Campus Cloud adds you to the selected channel, as a member.
Campus mobile app
Here's how to join (or request to join) a channel using the campus mobile app:
- Log in to the app
- Tap
to view the Community, then tap
to show the navigation sidebar
- Tap Find A Channel
- Find the channel you want to join, by searching or browsing
- Tap the channel name to view details
- Tap Join (for public channels) or Request to Join (for private channels)*
You are added to the selected channel, as a member. The campus mobile app shows you the channel you have just joined.
(*) If you’re trying to join a private channel, you won’t be able to join it right away. You can request to join. Once your request is approved, you will be added to the channel.
